Miami, Florida · Warehouse high-bay lighting
A Miami warehouse had high lighting costs and a number of lights that were no longer operating. With forklift activity in the building, improving visibility was a key reason for the lighting upgrade.
Project scope
- Upgraded 60 warehouse lights.
- Replaced fixtures rated at 400 watts each with 150-watt LED fixtures.
- Addressed illumination in the warehouse work areas.
Project results
The documented fixture ratings correspond to a connected load change from 24,000 watts to 9,000 watts, a 62.5% reduction. This is a rated-load comparison, not a measured annual bill reduction. The archive does not provide before-and-after light-level measurements.
Planning a similar project
For warehouse lighting, mounting height, aisle layout, shelving and operating hours help determine fixture selection. Installation planning should also account for access equipment and activity below the work area.
